What Is Order Address Validation?

Order Address Validation is an API integration that confirms a customer's address being used on a newly created order to verify the address is known by mail carriers. This helps to reduce shipping errors and fake order creation. There are several vendors that perform address validation. Please contact OrderLogix for more assistance

Sales Order Entry

When creating a new order, the address will be verified via API prior to allowing the order to be created.


Process History

The shipping export job log will display any errors during address validation of orders with addresses not already marked as being validated

Setup

Navigate to Campaign > Advertising > Global Script Rules


Tool Bar

Utilizing the buttons on the tool bar  you can:
Go back to the previous screen 
Add new 
Print 
Minimize module 

Add New

  1. To copy an existing record, click on the copy button next to the record you want to copy.
  2. To edit an existing record, click on the edit pencil next to the record you wish to edit.
  3. To add a new record, click on the Add New button in the blue module bar.
    1. A new window will pop up.


  1. Rule Name
    1. example - Address Verification
  2. Use for order entry
    1. Checked - rule will be applied on the Sales Order Entry screen
    2. Unchecked - rule will NOT be applied on the Sales Order Entry screen
  3. Use for imports 
    1. Checked - rule will be applied on orders imported into the system
    2. Unchecked - rule will NOT be applied on orders imported into the system
  4. Action - Item Pending Review
  5. Reason - Item held for review - other
  6. Error Memo
    1. example - Address Verification Failed
  7. IF Conditions = Unconditionally apply rule
  8. Then Conditions = (VendorName) Address Validation API Script Rule
    1. API Key - this can be found on the vendors platforms
    2. Verify Match
      1. example - We have found a match for your address, please select the address you want to use.
    3. Verify Warning
      1. example - WARNING: More information is required to validate.
    4. Auto Correct
      1. Checked - will auto correct an address if only one match was found
      2. Unchecked - requires address to be corrected by a member of your team
